The most effective way to remove a tattoo is with laser treatment.   The time and cost involved will vary depending on how old the tattoo is, how intricate the design, where it is placed on the body and what ink was used.  Current lasers are able to remove your art with less trauma and scarring than past methods, but it will take several treatments and will be both uncomfortable and expensive. 

If you have a tattoo you don’t want to display on prom night, any plans for removal should be made months in advance so that you can find a reputable dermatologist and have time for both the treatments and the healing.

Tattoos can be covered with makeup.   Typical foundations will not cover well enough.  You will need specially blended body or stage makeup that is thick enough to hide the ink. 

Display Your Body Art
If you love your tattoo — flaunt it.  Keep that body art in mind as you shop for your perfect prom gown.  If you buy a dress that covers a portion of your tattoo or has a strap running across the middle of it you will not look polished.  The art and the gown will detract from each other.  Instead, buy a dress that is cut to display your tattoo as the artistic piece it is — something you are proud enough to display every day and on prom night.
